IMPORTANT INFO FOR OUR MEMBER'S !!!
Something exciting’s been happening at the Smallholders Club, those who have visited over the last 6 weeks may already be aware we have made some upgrades to our Tills. This comes along with an integrated door entry system.
What will this look like for our members and their guests?
All current members will be able to collect a new plastic card that will allow you entry to the club and prove your membership status at the bar. Those bringing in guests with them will visit the bar on arrival to sign in their guest/s and payment will be made at this point for a ‘Day Membership’ either with cash or card. A pass will then be printed and handed to the guests, this will need to be presented when purchasing drinks or if asked for by a member of staff or committee member conducting a spot check.
What will this new card look like and what does it do?
The card is white and is the same size and shape as a credit/debit card, perfect to keep in your wallet or purse. There is no personal information printed on the card, only the Smallholders logo and name.
Your information is stored digitally on the card and appears to the staff when presented at the till. It will be used to gain entry to the club, confirm membership at the bar and should you wish, you may add funds to it also to spend in the club at the bar or to purchase tickets to our club events. Please note funds on your card cannot be used to purchase food from the Smallbarn. ( Our food Franchisee).
When will this take effect?
From Monday 1st September 2025, all members will require a new style card to gain access to the club. It is therefore advisable that you visit us before then to collect your new card in preparation for this date to make your experience visiting the club thereafter a smoother one.
What are the benefits?
As members you have paid a subscription to enjoy the benefits of the club, this system will help us ensure non-members are being correctly signed in at all times as paying guests.
The information we gain from the digital records will allow us to see patterns as to when we are busiest and make more informed choices for staffing therefore improving your experience in the club.
Should you choose to add funds to your card, this will benefit the club in terms of reducing the number of transaction fees we pay for taking card payments. If you use cash you can still choose to pre load your card and reduce the loose change in your pocket. It is also useful for those who like to budget for what they’d like to spend, and up-to-date balance can be provided after each transaction.
You will no longer have to worry about having the cash to sign in your guests as card payments can be taken.
What else do l need to know?
In the coming months leading up to renewals in January we will be further investigating and deciding on the other features available to our members and the club which will be communicated in due course.
This includes the collection of photographs at the renewal stage as an added layer of security at the till point, preventing the potential of using another member’s card. This photo will only be seen on the till point by your server to confirm the member before us is indeed the one whose card has been presented.
We also have the option of a Smallholders App for smart phones whereby you may have a digital version of your membership card and receive regular updates on events and key information about the club straight to your device.
We are currently working on a revised way of completing the renewals process more flexibly and efficiently as this new system allows for that, we will communicate this nearer the time when it has been finalised.
Thank your for your patience during the transition period.

NOTE.
*Thursday evenings is League Darts.

To be fair to other members we say frames should last no longer than 30 minutes when we ask you to pop down and check the board to make sure no-one is waiting, if not continue for another frame.
IMPORTANT. You cannot write all players on the board and play multiple games. 1 game per group unless the above applies.
